Most of us used the ones in the kit and they work perfectly well.

I have the ones that came with the kit now but i am ordering a set from Rubicon Express. I was very disappointed with the Rocky Roads. usually when i put shocks on, the shock is tied off with wire so that the piston will not extend under pressure. I had to pull the piston out on the RR's. Doesn’t seem like they are absorbing much shock with such little resistance. I have the measurements at work if you need them. let me know and i will post it.

Please do post them, it would be nice for when we need to replace the RR shocks.

sorry... not on the computer all the time so it takes me a day or two to catch up. here are the dimensions:

17 1/2" when the shock is fully depressed
30 1/4" when it is fully extended

the top number is not as important as the bottom.. as long as your travel is over 30 1/4 i am sure you are alright, just dont be under. Give these to the guy at Rubicon Express and they will hook you up with some top quality shocks.

Did you get the shocks? If so, how are they and what brand?

WOW THATS LONG!
I guess it doesnt matter as long as the collapsed measurements are not too long.. that should jus give you more travel...

The factory shocks are like 24.33 according to Bilstein and a slew of other shock manufactures...

I found a discontinued Trailmaster SSV shock with the extended length of 26.5 ... about 2" longer than stock. Collapsed was about 1" longer too...

I got em cheap...I will let everyone know what I think when I get em on.

I used SSVs on a ZJ years back and they seemed to ride great...
I guess there are alot of stores that still have them in stock...
