well, the other day i traded my xk. it was my first jeep and i will never forget it. it had 72000 miles on it. Since the day that i brought it home, i was in love. over time things just started breaking. one week it would be the tpms and the next it would be the blower motor and the air recirculation doors. i was spending a lot of money to just keep it on the road. My wife works at a Toyota dealership and said that they had some XKs on the lot but they were all high mileage. so i looked around and saw an FJ Cruiser. I ended up trading the Jeep for it. My 4 year old daughter was in tears. she kept hugging the XK and screaming "I LOVE MY JEEP, I DONT WANT THAT UGLY TRUCK!" She has very good taste. I will never forget the feeling i got driving my XK, the FJ doesn't even come close. I would buy another Jeep, but this time i couldn't. I will check in from time to time. I learned a lot from everyone on this form. Before i was a member, i knew absolutly nothing about vehicles. Now i am much more confident in doing my own PMs and minor repairs. Thanks again.
EOD OUT!!!

 LMAO! You can count on us for that! Sad to see you go to the dark side but you do what you have to do. You'll have to keep us posted on the differences on how our XKs compare to an FJ.

Good luck!

Good luck - I feel your pain. Every time I see or pass an XK, ...... I'm at a loss for words.

Sorry for your trade, I agree with your daughter! The FJ's nice looking on the outside, but ugly with huge blind spots on the inside. As for the XK nickle and dime-ing you, the FJ's more expensive to repair due to parts prices (imported). I've had blower door problems, a new water pump and steering issued (lift related), but still find the XK to be more solid than the other products out there. Only my 2000-02 4Runner's were more solid, but expensive when they broke!

That being said, good luck with the FJ, and go get it dirty!
