Have any of you used seafoam on your commander?

Results???
I've heard a couple of guys talk about it before, but I don't think I can remember anybody actually using it.

Guys have voiced concerns about the residue it may leave behind and the after affects it may have on the fuel system.

Sorry I don't have a better answer.

I've used Sta-bil in my gas tank before when storing my Commander, with good results.

I've used it with no ill effects, but no benefits either. I've used multiple types, including the spray that you spray into the throttle body, the fluid you add using a vacuum tube, and the fluid you can add to the gas tank, and while they all caused some carbon buildup to burn off, I felt no real power improvements and my gas mileage stayed constant.

As far as concerns with the fuel system go, I don't think there are any major problems to be had with using Seafoam. I haven't seen it leave any residue behind, and my only concern would be that the loosened carbon may clog the catalytic converters. My injectors and all sensors seem to be functioning normally after running the fluid through the gas tank, and I can't see Seafoam having any real effects on any other components.

That being said, I don't think it's worth the cost with no clear benefits. It won't clean off enough carbon to make any significant difference in the way your engine runs.

Ok thanks for the input guys!

I’m about to do a full flush of the system: coolant and transmission, and thought I’d throw the sea foam in there as well.

One quirk about the jeep is when going uphill it’ll like stall a little, forcing me to put more throttle on. This normal?

FYI it is recommended by Chrysler not to flush the transmission. You should replace the 2 filters and replenish the ATF-4. Make sure the coolant is G-05 (yellowish) or the Mopar specific one (pink). The Dexos (sp?) or Universal will cause problems down the line.

Not sure where SeaFoam would come into play on the tranny or cooling system.

I personally utilize a mixture of 50:50 StaBil Marine 360 and Startron for fuel additives.

Alright...so put 16 oz of seafoam in the gas tank, with the ratio of 1 oz to 1 gallon, and no real difference. Let it sit for about 6 before driving it for about 75 miles down Highway 1 in Cali ha. Not much white smoke out, which is how they say cleans the system. Guessing that's good...or hopefully not bad!

I have never seen it smoke unless you stick the brake booster line in the bottle. Trust me, it'll smoke that way lol. I have used it on a few Hemis. No real noticeable difference. The Lucas oil stabilizer is the only snake oil additive I have ever used with any real noticeable difference. (Eliminated lifter tick)
