I just bought the sensa-trac's for the F150. I just have the RC spacer in the back. I jacked up the rear but it didn't give enough to allow me to slide the strut into the lower mount bracket.

Now, since I am not the biggest guy and don't have time to build up my guns, does anyone have a suggestion on how to get another 1" to get the shock in? Also, I am concerned about the F150 strut being a bit too long with just the RC lift.

lift the back up and put it on jack stands that do not touch the axle and suspension. Then disconnect the sway bar. With the shock out, the axle should now have a lot of up and down play. May want to put the jack under the axle on the side you take the shock out of (before removing the shock) so you can easily control up and down movement.

I was in the same boat as you, when installing the Monroes on with my old 2" lift setup. The trick I used, was to bolt in the top of the shock, and then place a floor jack on the bottom of the shock. I then just jack the shock up until it compresses enough to slide into the lower shock mount. Another problem I ran into was the fact that the lower shock mounts were just a bit too slim for the bushing on the bottom of the shock. Because of this, I had to use a mallet to hammer it into the lower mount. Let us know how it turns out.

That is funny. That is exactly what I did but the holes didn't line up correctly. I tried to pry it up where I could get the bolt through. In my quest to find a clunk, I bought new swaybar links for the rear (I meant to buy front ones so I bought the front and kept the rears). I will remove sway bar links and get it done tonight. I also bought washers as the size is correct on the bottom but around 1/4 " shy on the top.

New shocks with 1/2 " difference

So, I got the Sensa-tracs on the jeep and really like the ride (limited experience). I changed the swaybar links while I was under there to Moogs. Something interesting, however. The passenger side is 1/2" higher than the driver side. The passenger side's shock went right in when I disconnected the swaybar but the driver side needed to be compressed.

The only reason I could think of for the difference is that there is always going to be 100-200 more pounds on the passenger side with the tank but that would account for the fact that the wheel wouldn't drop as far as the passenger side. My wheel well sits at 36 3/4 from the ground with exception of the driver side rear.
