Hi all,

I am installing the SPC adjustable ball joints (23420) with the stock Commander upper control arms and also plan to lift the front just a bit (1.25") using the Bilsten 5100 shocks. I am trying to figure out how much to adjust the ball joints and in which direction (in or out)--I emailed SPC and they were not all that helpful, saying the work needs to be done by an alignment shop. I realize it will need an alignment, but trying to get a good initial setting--as I suspect many alignment shops are not all that familiar with adjusting these ball joints as part of doing a front alignment. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? In the picture I've attached, I slid them out about a quarter of an inch, but not sure if that is the right direction or amount.

Thanks much.

Most shops will know how to adjust that. Its just rotating the joint to change the angle. You should be able to limp it in a few miles however they land when you install.
Or you can adjust with the wheel off yourself to get close to vertical before you go.
