I just purchased the diablo trinity tuner and was wondering if anybody has tried putting str8 injectors in there 5.7? Ive installed a cold air kit,and I'm installing Hotter coil pacs with platinum spark plugs. and cat exhaust. Just wanting to get as much performance as i can with out getting inside of it. Has anybody done this? Does the programmer bump up the fuel pressure on performance modes or does there need to be additional Programing? I saw were someone was saying they installed a map senior from a str8? Anyway-apreciate it-Keep on jeep-theres only one :)

People using anything but the OEM Champions in the HEMI have had problems.

Thanks- I'll check that out. I bought OEM's as well (something told me-so-may have to use them instead. There was a guy talking about the diablo Ituner and he was talking about these injectors with a turbo kit. He was a Chrysler programmer or something? I can't find that thread-still looking. He was talking about set map sensor etc….. Any Body Know who that was???-got a feeling he could tell me what i need to know.. Thanks …..

OK, so the trinity went back-didnt see it was for windows only-duh. Im not going back :). So i bought the diablo intune and installed it today. Totally happy with it,especially tranny points-can def tell the difference. Still wondering and checking on injectors and coil pacs. Installing plugs,& o2 sensors tomorrow.

For what reason are you upgrading. Injectors are not going to give you any more power, they just flow more in case your engine has the airflow to demand it. Now when you start running heads and cam or faced induction or even e85 you will need a larger injector but with your setup your factory injectors are the best for what you are doing.

bijanmaleki is right.

Just putting in bigger injectors is going to do nothing but lighten your wallet. Pumping more gas into motor doesn't produce more power, it will produce less power. Besides, the electronic control of the engine won't let it happen anyway, it will recognize the A/F ratio being to rich and then adjust the injector pulse width and return the amount of fuel being injected back to normal.

Same thing with coil packs, its rare that modern engines have a weak spark, the stock ignition is more than strong enough. Making a hotter spark then is needed is NOT going to do anything to increase power.

The PCM reprogrammer is the only thing you mentioned that will actually improve power and it will likely do it by leaning out the A/F ratio at WOT, as well as advancing the ignition timing.

Next thing to do to get more power is increase the air flow into the motor, that is aftermarket intake systems, low restriction air filters, exhaust as well (you can't flow more in then you flow out), headers and low restriction Catalytic Converters, exhaust systems, mufflers. Even with these mods, you're NOT likely to exceed the capacity of your stock injectors and ignition.

Then you get into internal mods, cams, port/polish heads and manifolds, increase compression ratio. Super/Turbo chargers, etc. When you start getting into these mods, you do start to exceed the capacity of the stock injectors and ignition, and then you would upgrade those items.

For what it is worth, I am only going up 4lbs of rating by using the stock SRT injectors and I a going to put a turbo system on. You have to add all the extra stuff before you add fuel really. I do my fuel last usually after I check my A/F monitor to see if I am too lean without being able to fix it on the software side.
Big danger of lots of fuel is washing the cyclinder walls with fuel and wearing out your rings faster. Albiet, this takes a big increase in spray. If you do end up getting some ensure they are actual 30lb injectors... Some if the bigger SRT engines can have up to 60lbs, and that will get annoying if you got the wrong ones and tried to figure out the tune. My 30lb injectors have a yellow band on the bottom of the injector.
