Howdy...

I think I may have ran into the problem with the starter wiring that seems a bit common among Commanders. Haven't had a chance to get under it and look at the wiring yet, but I plan to do so this weekend. I killed the battery trying to get it started, but I was getting the "Transmission Over Temp" message while turning the key, with no result.

My question is: Has anyone replaced this wiring harness on their own? Is it too tricky for a normal guy to take on? I'm no mechanic, but I have no problem performing basic repairs as long as I have an idea of what I'm getting into.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance...

Sorry a little late but it's not bad to do but an extra elbow in your forearm would be useful. :) It's a tight squeeze but doable in the driveway. Pulling the fender liner and Y exhaust pipe will help give you some working room.

You may not need to replace the wire. The usual issue is the spade connector is corroded and both the female and male connectors can be cleaned, reconnected and coated with conductive grease.
