I stuck a mid size mower (diesel 4wd approx #1000} in a ditch yesterday. I was alone and after hooking up the strap I left the hatch open so I could watch it better. It was not suck bad, just hi-ended on the mid mounted mower deck. Only needed to tug it a few feet, and on fairly level ground, but I couldn't move it. Only spun the right front wheel and dug a hole in the gravel. I hooked a longer strap thinking the slight lean may be a problem, tried again and the same thing. Last week I replaced the rear brake pads and rotors and wondered if something went wrong from that. As I stood scratching my head, I closed the rear hatch, and it worked as expected. I was wondering if anyone else had noticed this or if this is normal and WHY?? I've seen some Jeeps with no doors at all!

Have to assume, this is a built in safety feature of some sort.
