Hey I got bad news guys. Well kinda good also
In the next upcoming months I will be planning on moving out of home and getting an apartment in college so with this my college is several hours away and my dad turns to me and says. Im taking the Commander. ( he needs a new car so hes taking mine). But with this hes gonna buy me a new car nothing as new as it but still something that can be durable with snow and long car trips. I suggest to him a Wrangler or a Subaru. He said no wrangler since big engine = bad gas. So I say Subaru Impreza. The only thing is the one i found has a turbo. He think turbos are only for a bunch of roided up freaks that are gonna kill themselves in car wrecks. Are there any plus sides to having a turbo rather then better gas milage?

A turbo will give you more power from a smaller displacement. All Impreza's don't come with a Turbo, so look around. Since your college is a distance from your home, you might want to consider a Forrester, which in all reality, is a jacked up Impreza wagon. At one time, I had a Subaru, and it was bullet proof. :eek:rangehat:

Tuff little car, turbo or not.
Because of the increased power, if you hammer it alot, various driveline bits will suffer.....like c/v joints, clutches, trans.
Trouble is, even if you don't pound on it, the previous owner likely did.....you end up paying for someone elses good times.
As a tired out old wrench, I can recommend this car only if you are buying new because of the unknown past.
The non-turbo version or the turbo version of their other vehicles likely will be fairly solid vehicles.

Good luck.....tell dad you want the Commander back after graduation,
Rob

Wrangler's have six cylinder engines--I don't consider that big. Besides you will get more chicks with a Wrangler.

Well yea V6 isnt big to me but it is to my dad, and the mpg in a wrangler is like 3 above my Commander. Say if i would go for a wrangler is there a certain year model that is better? Or are they all basically the same. ( I got a girl and she said shell kill me if i get anything lifted up haha )
