I am interested in a new air compressor for home use. I want to blow up tires and maybe add some air tools.

I have one now that says it gets to 120psi but it wont inflate my bicycle tires (need 100psi)

Suggestions on what i should look for? What kind of attachments do you have for your compressor?

If I were you, I'd do some web research before purchasing a compressor. Just about any compressor should inflate tires without a problem, but if you're going to be using it for air tools, you've gotta make sure it can keep up with the demands of your biggest air hog tools. Tank size, HP, CFM, etc... are all important considerations. IMO, you're better off going too big than too small.

Most people do not know this but there are single stage and dual stage compressors. If you can find one that is inexpensive enough, the dual stage will outperform the single stage all other specifications being the same.

I also have an accessory tank that I use in line on mine and it keeps the pressure at the tool where you need it to be as the compressor is filling the tank not running the tool.
