Hello, I currently have a 3.7L V6 4X4. When I bought the vehicle, it did not come with a trailer hitch. Just recently, I purchased a hitch from a local shop and had one installed.

My question are for the folks with the 3.7L... what's the furthest and heaviest you've towed?

My wife will be renting a 5X8 uhaul trailer and traveling from Virginia to Louisiana. I want to make sure that her and my daughter will be fine for the road trip as I am currently deployed in Afghanistan.

Thank you

The 3.7 4X4 is rated to tow up to 3500 lbs. As long as the trailer is under this weight you should be fine. I would recommend servicing the transmission with new fluid previous to the trip as the transmission is stressed the most while towing. Also make sure they know about using the tow/ haul function (not sure if the 3.7 has this) or at least understands not to let the overdrive stay engaged too much during up hill pulls etc. This is what really overheats transmissions while towing.
