2007 Jeep Commander V6 turbo Diesel (OM642) with quadradrive ii here in Australia.
After a long drive towing a van, stop at home and then restart the engine to get 'service 4wd system' error straight away. No need to flip the low range, I get this error soon as I turn ignition on.

Checked codes and get - P0700 'Transmission Control System Malfunction' and U0114 'Lost Communication with four-wheel drive clutch control module'.

Any help would be appreciated.....!

Check for blown fuses, at least it is something easy you can do yourself. When I've seen "Lost Communication" codes, its either because the module was removed or a fuse is blown to the module disabling it.

So I have checked every single fuse on the vehicle - all Ok
I have tried the fuse pull for the N23 trick - did not work.
I have checked 12 and 5 volts at the plug into the solenoid - Ok
I have check 12 volts going into the FDM - all Ok
I have taken out the selector PC board and cleaned it - all Ok

Can it simply be the solenoid drive itself not engaging or working at all?
Is there a way to check these units for proper operation?

Is there anyway of checking the correct operation of the actuator in or out of the vehicle?
