Mine just got delivered on Friday. Plan on getting them installed next week. I went 255/75/17, they look great.. Bfg carcass's.

There are many threads on many of the forums like jeep forum dot com or pirate 4 by 4 dot com. It appears they have a lot of mixed reviews. Some swear by them and others ended up replacing them well before there expected end of tread life. I was seriously considering them, but after adding up the price for shipping and install and talking to some local tire shops I was able to get a deal on some better known name brand tires. BOTTOM LINE do your research and make a list of what is most important to you (noise, life, stance, tread pattern?) and do not forget to check locally. Shopping on price alone when it comes to tires is not always best...

I'm a fan of these tires and was curious how they might handle on an all time 4x4. The biggest issue I found was some tire shops would not do flat repairs because of concerns about re-treads. After educating a few I've got shops that will do the work now. I love how they handled in the snow on my truck so that is why I'm looking at going back to them once I lift my Commander and the $125 per tire for M/Ts doesn't hurt either.

Before I got my duratracs, I was in the same situation. The main deciding factor was the fact that most of my local tire installers would not even consider working with re-treads, due to liability. My only option was a very sketchy place that was not known for the best work, so I bit the bullet and just got the duratracs. Totally worth it.

I hate when tire stores stay they won't work on them because of liability. In my opinion its no different then when they refuse to mount tires that were not purchased through them, but the facts don't support their arguments. Almost seems like the same logic they use to say that lift kits and other aftermarket parts void warranties. Here is a link to a study done on retreads versus new:

Got mine mounted, will try and toss pics up when I get on the desktop.
This is my first pair of MT's and to me they seem noisy (more of a hum I guess), my buddy says they aren't that bad at all.

Had to breakdown and finally do the pinch weld, they rubbed big time.

The mechanic had no idea that they were retreads..

Those tires look nice to bad they dont have the 245 75r17 size only the 255 which would require spacers and pinchweld mod. That is somehting I don't want to do.

those are the jk wheels, just plastidipped them black last weekend.
