Has anyone seen or done the old skinnys on the XK?
I was thinking about tracking down some old black steel rims and a 235/85/17 style tire. Going for the old Defender look.
Has anyone done it?

I can dig it... But then again, back in Houston in the late 2000s', I probably had the only jeep grand cherokee on Swanga's anywhere in town and thought it was the coolest **** ever.

It looks great on the old defenders, but wouldn't match the commander's styling IMO, plus your current wheels are already pretty sick on their own! Also, I heard from many old techs how much those defenders were absolutely HATED. You might trigger some old memories from certain people 😅
Lol. I visited South Africa for a month back in the early 2000s and I rented a d90 for a week. As soon as I bought this thing I put those new Rubicon Gladiator rims on and really really like it. They are also functional because they are super easy to clean. Now I'm starting to see more and more of them and I always like to have a bit of an original truck. I was thinking black steelies and half moon hubcaps...lol. But then again I'm a bit of an idiot...lol

Absolutely. I guess because the demand is low for the pizza cutters is why they run expensive!? I also had a 1969 FJ40 and always liked the skinny look on those. It is definitely a personal thing...but I like em! Cheers!
