That park assist DTC could be indicative of a short in one of your park assist sensors, or, a bad park assist sensor - which could, in theory, be contributing to your remote start issue. I know from experience that our park assist sensors can be prone to shorting out; I had to replace one of mine a couple of years ago that kept shorting out. This could very easily have a ripple effect within your electrical system, IE blowing fuses, etc.Honestly I'm thinking it's a programming thing. I think it's the FOB as I have had a few light issues with it. I replaced the battery with a new one but the new one seems weak. It doesn't have a great range to unlock the doors or open the tailgate. I have to be pretty darn close. So I will buy a new battery again and check it out. It's winter here and I don't have garage space to work on the Jeep. I will be doing full suspension work come spring time and it warms up. At that time I'll check it out more. The Jeep runs fine and as I mentioned earlier.....no tripped codes except for the park assist.
I was able to get this gadget to work and I disable my tpms..It is a cheaper alternative and it works great..Yep, there are a few different ways to go about it that may be more cost effective, as you've pointed out.
@srad2drag;I was able to get this gadget to work and I disable my tpms..It is a cheaper alternative and it works great..
can confirm. I used Jscan and and android OBDII adapter to turn my TPMS off about a year and half ago, no issues since. Jscan gives access to lots of stuff, more than I have had time to play around with. I did turn on reverse side mirrors though, it's a nice feature.I was able to get this gadget to work and I disable my tpms..It is a cheaper alternative and it works great..
What does reverse side mirrors do exactly @heffercow?can confirm. I used Jscan and and android OBDII adapter to turn my TPMS off about a year and half ago, no issues since. when you shift into reverse, it angles the side view mirrors down so you can see the rear tires. makes it a little easier to maneuver into tight spots instead of having to stick my greasy forehead against the window. THen when you shift out of reverse they return back to the original setting. I think this only works if your jeep has the positions setting for different drivers though (the 1 and 2 buttons on the door). What does reverse side mirrors do exactly @heffercow?
I'm guessing here - but this sounds like a "Limited" trim package option to me.when you shift into reverse, it angles the side view mirrors down so you can see the rear tires. makes it a little easier to maneuver into tight spots instead of having to stick my greasy forehead against the window. my jeep has the 2 position for different drivers. I couldn't locate that setting in the module. yes it is tied to the memory seats, which I believe was only available on the limited. Still let me change tire size and other stuff though so even the non limited owners can find good stuff. I have barely looked at all the stuff it offers.I'm guessing here - but this sounds like a "Limited" trim package option to me.
It's not in modules, it's actually under the adaptation tab.my jeep has the 2 position for different drivers. I couldn't locate that setting in the module. What exactly is it?
Ok cool, I'll check that out..I had that feature on a Maxima once and I really liked it. So if I can do the same to the jeep that will be great..yes it is tied to the memory seats, which I believe was only available on the limited. Still let me change tire size and other stuff though so even the non limited owners can find good stuff. I have barely looked at all the stuff it offers.

go to adaptation scroll to the bottom where it says vehicle user settings then scroll to the bottom again and it should say tilt mirrors in reverse. select it and hit on from the drop-down menu.
It's weird because all of the other settings on this page are accessible through the jeep user interface on the dash, but this one isn't. anyways when you turn it on it tilts the side view mirrors down when you put it in reverse, then when you shift out of reverse it returns back to normal. It is nice to be able to see the tires when I am backing into the garage because I try to park more to one side than the other and there is crap all along that wall.
I found it and activated the setting. Thanks again for info. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽yes it is tied to the memory seats, which I believe was only available on the limited. no problem! Like i said the app does a ton. I bought it specifically to change my tire size so my speedo and odometer were more accurate, all the other stuff has been a bonus!I found it and activated the setting. Thanks again for info. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Like I said in the original post that started this thread;no problem! Like i said the app does a ton. I bought it specifically to change my tire size so my speedo and odometer were more accurate, all the other stuff has been a bonus!
There's a reason I don't want to involve my laptop. I am going to read on and see if you resolved the virus. So, I'm wishing you never asked me this question right about now @Outlaw. I went into the program & checked and it said there was a newer beta version that came out in June 2019, so, I downloaded it which turned out to be a mistake, apparently it had a trojan in it. My Webroot anti-virus caught it right away and removed the bug, but, I had to uninstall the software as a result which means I'll have to buy it again and re-install it.
So, to anyone else out there, update the Appcar-DiagFCA software at your own risk and as I'm sitting here looking back at it, there really is no reason to update the software once you have it installed. Once you have it downloaded, installed and it's working, leave it alone and don't worry about updating it.
I would like to see this post bumped to the top of the discussion? I would be inclined to just grab all the gear and updates etc and the suggestion that once it's downloaded just leave it. That's great advice!I reinstalled the software and I will not attempt to update the software again; It works just fine as it is and there is no need to update it. Apparently according the AppCar Diag, it's a false positive from my Webroot AV software.
I'm not chancing it; I'd recommend sticking with the original download you get when you first buy the software - there really is no need to update it.
Ok so now I'm back on the windows use bandwagon lol.no problem! Like i said the app does a ton. I bought it specifically to change my tire size so my speedo and odometer were more accurate, all the other stuff has been a bonus!
I figured out the ins app hits me if I go a full mile overspeed. And I do roll like a granny ..it's the imaginary 53' trailer I'm used to pulling behind my semi haha..I didnt do it so much on my 1700 triumph tho..just sometimes swung a little wide.i dropped the TPMS with appcar probably 9 mos ago, no issues, no other warnings.
@Yourtruckerfriend with a little trial and error i was able reset the tire diameter in the app as well to correct the speedometer compare to GPS... in your case you could set it a little the "other way" and always show state farm you roll like a granny!![]()
