If you promise NEVER to drive on public roads ever again, I'll consider it?

You mean you want to play DVD's in the Radio/Nav Head Unit while in motion, for the passengers, you do NOT intend to watch movies while driving a 4700lb vehicle at 65mph, instead of looking at the road, right?

I don't want to sound sanctimonious, but the way you phrased that question, you're just asking for it.

Pssst, you need a device called a lock pick, to trick the system into letting it work while moving. I really don't know much about it, but seen people post about it and seen some advertisements about it.

You think you can trust people NOT to do something really stupid, but I saw a guy pass me, and I was already speeding faster than most people do, obviously looking down at his aftermarket radio/dvd player watching porn on the screen, he was the only person in the vehicle. Wasn't there a famous Basketball Player that plowed into 3 cars parked on the side of the road, because he was watching porn on his DVD screen in his custom SUV?

I hope he lives near you, Mongo, so he can cut your grass for you.
 or plow into my yard because he was watching DVD's while he was driving.

Yea, I do NOT like the Nanny State attitude a lot of people take in this country today, that everyone must protect you from yourself; BUT, the DVD screen disabled while moving, I'd have to agree, even if you don't "intend" to watch it while moving, it is distracting, and I think it is a legitimate to disable it playing while in motion.

Slightly off topic but a good subject of discussion, when mine is on (Kenwood DXmodel)
the screen is very bright, even at night. I can turn the screen off,
but them i cant see anything. I would rather have a low light picture of some
sort, but cant seem to make it happen.

What does anyone else see while driving? (not watching movies)

I have never been able to get my lock pick to work, must have done something wrong.

Will the dimmer switch on the turn signal affect your Kenwood DX? It does on the REC screen.

Also, regarding the in motion video, it looks like Lockpick has dip switches that allow you to selectively turn off certain features, like in motion video, but keep the in motion Nav address inputs.

I can go into settings and dim the light but that's work while you are driving.
The dimmer does not dimm the display, but that would be nice.

On the Kenwood, you just ground the brake wire and the display works.

The safest way to watch porn when you are driving is to do this: put mirror film on inside of the back window. That way no one can see in. Then, play it on the VES and watch it in your rear view mirror! Safe, huh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :banana_hitit:

Heads Up Display, project the image on the windshield so that it is somewhat translucent, you can you look through it to the road.

They've experimented with it for years, for displaying instruments on the windshield, wonder why it hasn't caught on.

Probably because they know it wouldn't be but a year before someone figured out how to hack it and project porn on their windshield while their driving.

I have a Kenwood system also. Like Cico said, on the aftermarket ones you ground the brake wire to activate screen while in motion. I only play movies for my daughter while driving. I would never watch a movie when I'm supposed to be watching the road.:stickpoke: This is a video I made of mine.

That just doesn't sound right!

Only 2 things come to mind:

  1. You've got it wired wrong.
  2. There's a setting you missed to have it switch to nighttime display. My wife's Subaru nav inverts the image when you turn on the headlights, but there's a setting that overrides that, if you want. Dig around in your owner's manual.

The lock pic is the way to go - It worked great on install and my kids get a kick out of watching shows on the dash screen. I have a stock RER head unit

No - someone got stopped here a couple of years ago. He got nailed for drinking, not for watching his porn. Thanks for asking! On another note, my Navus by Mopar inverts the image once the ambient light gets dim enough - it doesn't matter whether the headlights are on or off. It is also hooked into the dash lights: I can adjust the brightness of the screen with the interior light switch on the light stalk. Are the in dash Nav units like this? Just curious. :icon_confused:

Cico, my Kenwood has the GPS also and it automatically changes the screen brightness at sunrise / sunset. I can also go into the preferences to adjust it to my liking. Yours should have some adjustment to it.

On the in dash Nav units, the image does not invert. Yes, the brightness can be adjusted up and down with the interior light switch on the light stalk. You can also go into settings and adjust the light settings for the screen.

I would check this site:

http://mofv.com/mygig/BBS/index.php

I was able to run a software update to allow my non-nav mygig to play video in motion. Works great.

Thanks for responses. Nope, I dont intend to watch while driving, but I'd like my fiance to be able to watch upfront without having to sit in the back on long road trips. It makes me feel like I'm driving Miss Daisy.

I'll look into the links sent. Thanks guys, if it works, I'll get my lawnmower ready.
