I think this is the first post I actually started on the site. My name is George, purchased an 06 V6 XK this past August.

My wife purchased me Weather Tech all weather floor mats for Christmas
http://www.weathertech.com/store/mvproduct.aspx?ItemGroupId=3&VehId=1214&Year=2006

The fronts fit the contours of the foot wells fine, but the second row... The mats are huge and there is no way they will correctly fit. They are all bunched up and just look like garbage. I compared them to the picture on Weather Tech's site and they appear to be the correct ones (I thought maybe they sent the wrong ones).

I checked Weather Tech's site and it says the rear mats can be customized to fit. Clicking on the link just takes me to the FAQ section and doesn't really give much info as to how to cut them to fit.

Does anybody here have these and have cut them to better fit the rear floor? I'd hate to cut them only to realize I cut too much when they aren't exactly cheap. I mean these are floor mats...are they supposed to be this much of a pain?

I've owned both the all-weather and the digital-fit.... let me preface this with "the digital-fit fit perfect on every vehicle i've ever put them in, including my commander"

For the all-weather version you are supposed to trip to fit. Take a picture if you can of them installed... it'll help me explain.

Basically, they made these mats with extra "outisde" layers that you trim off in sections to get the best size/shape for your floor.

Thank you. Now I know I won't order these. Even the digital cut ones, you have to trim the second row if you have the VES. I've checked, and decided against these, also.:eek:rangehat:

What does the VES add that requires trimming? The only option I didn't get (didn't have a choice since I buy used) was the DVD entertainment system... but curious what it adds that would be an issue..

I'll try to snap some pictures later today. Thanks for the input.

On the 06 and I believe the 07, the VES control box is added on to the back of the console, adding about 4" to the length. I think that the newer ones are on the roof with the screen. On weathertech's website, they tell you that you must trim the second row to fit if you have a VES. I do not know if there is a cut line to follow on the back. I was looking at mats from another site, and asked them about the VES. I was told I would have to order the mat, and once delivered, I had to mark it for trimming and send it back so they could trim it and edge seal it. I don't think I'm going this route either. :eek:rangehat:

The Husky liners I purchased fit the second row very well. They had recesses to follow to remove the section for the VES. These recesses would leave the appearance of a factory edge on the mat.

The second row Husky liners cover from sill to sill but are two pieces. One piece is for one foot well and the hump and the other overlaps slightly on the hump and covers the other foot well.
