I did quite a bit of searching and couldn't find a thread like this, which was surprising.

But anyway, this is to share the quick updates about the little things you did to your XK on any given day. If you don't want to start a new thread... Let us know here!

Kind of a sad day.
Cleaned Rusty's nose prints off the inside glass. We'll never again have them.
Also, made sure the A/C was working. Going to be needing it soon I think. View attachment 45626

That's a shame.

Beautiful dog.

I always liked Dachshunds, had a couple of them when I was a much younger man.
always so tough. hang in there jk
Took my Commander in for some "regular" maintenance items this past week. Figured I'd get an oil change, new spark plugs and a new belt before winter hits too hard here.

The shop called me back early in the day with, "You've got a few things going on here"!! Not exactly what I wanted to hear ... Besides the items I took it in for they found, there were 2 coolant leaks, it needs new brakes, there's an exhaust leak and it needs new drivers side upper and lower ball joints. I had them do the oil change, spark plugs, replace the water pump (1st coolant leak) and replace a fitting on a coolant hose (2nd leak) and replace the belt. A cool $800 out the door!!

I'll do the brakes (rotors and pads) myself in the next couple of weeks. I looked on RockAuto and can get new rotors and a few misc brake parts that I'd need for right at $200. And I have lifetime pads from Auto Zone, so for $200 I'll have all new brakes. I'll wait until early spring to replace both upper control arms, both lower ball joints and then get an alignment. After quickly looking at prices I think I can get the control arms and ball joints for right around $200 as well. Just need to work on getting some free time to have my brother help with those upgrades.
I picked up a set of Moog upper control arms and lower ball joints a couple weeks ago for $215. I had them installed and got an alignment yesterday for $625. Glad to get another item knocked off the list from my last trip to the shop. I think $840 for all that is a reasonable price.

Nice.
Finally got around to replacing the driver side door seal.
Just to be safe, disconnected the battery, didn't want to accidentally set off a impact sensor.
Need to remove sill plate. If you don't have a "trim removal tool ", a large flat screwdriver works well.
One at each end and one in the middle. R&R went easy, used a rubber mallet to make sure fully seated in corners. Trimmed about an inch off the end. The new one was about 1/16th narrower, which left a clean stripe along the B pillar.
Didn't realize it was that dirty.

I needed one on my drivers side door a couple years ago. It looked like the door was closed multiple times on the seatbelt, the seal was all torn up. I could hear air and feel cold coming in when driving!! I was able to find a good one at our Pull a Part lot for a few bucks!!
