I would imagine that a portion of it is that you now get the ECU module as part of the kit and some might be their way to deal with increased ship costs past on to the customer.

some of the kits also add crappy shocks to get the price higher. i think you can also get their reservoir shocks which adds a lot to the price.

It looks like they're including the reservoir shocks and AEV module in the price. These are items that you need to buy with the kit, so it makes the price look more realistic. However, you can get the kit for less plus install elsewhere.

My kit cost $1,875 back in april. Because I ordered it from out of state, the sales tax was zero and I got free shipping. My cost included the SSR remote res. shocks which I would recommend. It did not include the module which I am looking into doing soon. I just found the kit for $1,606 from 4wd.com which doesn't appear to include the shock upgrade or the module. $2,800 is way too much. It shouldn't take too much looking around to find it much cheaper.

Edit: I remembered who I bought the kit from (been a long morning). They still have free shipping but their price has gone up. I think this new price includes the module, but not the shock upgrade.
