Hey guys..I really prefer 16s over 17s. Do 16s clear the factory XK breaks? Im thinking a 16X8 with a 4.5 BS. Thoughts on fitment? I searched, but couldn't find much. Also, what size in inches is a 265/70? Seems thats the common tire size with a 2-2.5 inch lift. If that comparable to a 31X10.5? or a 32 Thanks fellas!

From what I've read on this site from different post the 16" wheels will not fit over your brakes. Others may have more insight on this. Now as
far as measuring 265/70 for height it depends on your wheel diameter. 265/70 17 measures 31.5 x 10.5. On a 16" wheel you would measure 30.5x 10.5. Keep in mind that those heights and widths vary slightly between manufacturers too.

blah so im stuck with 17s? O well. Looks like my setup would be a rocky road 2.5 inch lift, 265/70s and a set of 17x8s. Would 4.5 BS be best for this? Its ok if it pokes out of the fender....i just want it to clear all of the suspension/steering.

I think if you were to find a 16 inch wheel with the right offset it would clear the brake caliper. I was helping my friend paint his winter wheels for his jeep the other day and I tried the get his wheel to fit on the XK. It was a 16x7 wheel off of a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It almost cleared the caliper with my 1.25 inch wheel spacers. If the wheel had a little less back spacing it would have fit.

I can roll on 17s, just dont want to. I like a lot of tire and a little wheel...but its ok.. Would a 17X8 4.5 BS wheel work?

I share your opinion of likeing big rubber vs. big wheels, small rubber. Several of us have 32 inch tires (255/75/17) on 17 inch wheels. That gives you a lot of tire, in my opinion. 31.65 inches should look about the same. Check out my photos in my profile to see mine. I think it looks good. Here's one:

Rusty's lift is fine. From my observations most everyone on the forum likes whichever 2 inch +- lift they put on. I think 32's push the envelope a bit. But several folks have them...various manufactures and tread patterns. Those 31.65's might be better for you ... a few mm to add to the clearance.

Also, a forum member, bysnyder I think, is selling lift and tires and a few other items. You might want to check the Buy/Sell area.

I am trying to get 2+" lift with 31.5X10.5 Nitto Grapplers on 15X8 Ion 138s on my 2006 Commander. The guy can't get past the brakes. What can I do?

I replied to your PM early this morning letting you know you cant fit a 15 or 16 inch wheel over the front rotors/calipers.
