Anyone with advise installing a trailer brake controller? Biggest problem is the brake switch and seven pin wire connections. I don't have any diagrams and actually haven't even looked under the dash yet.
Dunno why they don't give us the plug. why the heck would I want to rip apart my vehicle to wire it when it should have been there in the first place. One of the very few complaints I have about this vehicle.lonestar said:If you have to wire it in instead of plugging a connector in, why do they give you the seven pin harness on the back and hide the 4 pin from you?
It's just a plugin harness? Or would you be depending on some monkey at the dealership to also wire it in. I don't do any work on my Commander (save breaking things for my Cherokee and my pickup.milkman said:there is another post on here about a sub harness you can get tha the controller plugs into.. mine is going on Thursday at the dealer.... there then will be a plug fo the controller to go into ...

So will I have to hard wire the controller in the harness?
Thanks,

There is no factory hook up for the brake controller.Tinsmith said:Hi,
Just got a new 07' Commander Overland, big discount. I have a question, I want to hookup my trailer barke controller but the book doesn't tell me anything about it. Is the Pig-tail installed already or does it have to be added?
You can purchase the Brake Controller Sub Harness by Mopar at this website http://www.leeparts.com/jeep_commander/accessories/towing/brake_controller_sub_harness.htmlTinsmith said:Hi,
