Hello all,
I've been searching these forums for the past couple of weeks since I bought my 2006 Jeep Commander (RAQ head), and I can't quite find the exact info I'm looking for. Here's the issue:
The driver side speakers stop working randomly. This can be anywhere between 5 minutes to an hour after the car has been started. The driver side audio comes in fine after the car has been restarted, however will eventually go out again until the next restart.
I've read tons of different posts regarding similar issues. I do have water at the base of the driver door well (open the door, look down, small puddle on metal) and have heard many things about sunroof drainage, bad seals, etc... Could this be the issue causing the left side to short out? What else can I investigate? I'm heading on a 1200 mile road trip on Friday, and really don't want to spend 1,000 miles of it with only one side of audio. If anyone has any suggestions, I would be most appreciative.
By the way, first post on these forums. You guys are absolutely great. There is an amazing wealth of knowledge available here.
Keith
